ABOUT OFIA

Through professional collaboration, OFIA strives to enhance investigative excellence within the field of forensic identification services in the Province of Ontario.

 

OFIA promotes best practices, supports knowledge sharing, and advances the professional development of forensic investigators across Ontario.

 

Founded in 2016, the Association was created to strengthen collaboration between police services and government agencies involved in forensic investigations.

 

In 2026, OFIA introduced a refreshed logo and new website, reflecting its continued growth and commitment to modernization. The design features a circular crest and laurel elements representing law and accountability, with a central fingerprint and DNA helix symbolizing science and evidence-based investigation.

 

The trillium anchors the Association in Ontario while representing renewal, and gold accents reflect excellence and achievement.

 

The logo was designed by Glenn Dextras, Forensic Artist with the Toronto Police Service.
